    No Buyers Remorse

The Viathon direct-to-consumer model experience starts out with a pro level bike packaging and delivery. The bike and wheels were placed in the box logically and well protected. Quick Start Guide is succinct. G.1 User guide an excellent reference, keep it, and the provided torque wrench with bits. The Viathon G1 is a complete and solid build. The bike handles well. It is not twitchy, on gravel, single track with roots or rocks, and rail road track ballast. The BSA threaded bottom bracket, internal cable routing, updated frame design, full Shimano 105 R7000 Series is faultless. Wanted to provide context on my feedback, I have several decades of cycling background with several brands the Viathon G-1 meets my requirements. cycling travelogue slide show on Vimeo https://vimeo.com/111444803

Value-packed gravel grinder for the masses

The Viathon G.1 will fill most of the needs of most cyclists without breaking the bank. The ride quality and handling are on par with bikes costing significantly more. When one factors in details like the impressive tire clearance and threaded bottom bracket, the G.1 becomes even more appealing.

    Access to Adventure

I was very pleased with the G.1 from the moment I unboxed it and used the handy guide for assembly. It was ridiculously easy to put the wheel on, handlebars and seat post, throw a little air in the tires and roll out. Even came with a handy torque wrench so my monkey-like tendencies wouldn't overcome me. First ride was awesome, bike fits me well, feels great on the dirt roads I like to ride. I did swap to a larger tire from Maxxis to give me more cushion, and I upgraded to carbon wheels for performance. Overall, I'm super pumped on this bike!

    So good

This bike is an incredible value given the summer sale. If you’re on the fence, just get the bike and you won’t be disappointed. I was deciding between this and the Grail and I have no regrets. Pros: - finishing kit: all zipp, fizik saddle, Ardennes plus wheels, no other bike has this spec in this price range - black paint, it’s a matte black that kind of feels like protective paint - 9.12kgs with xt pedals - rear triangle is so comfortable, the front could be a bit stiff if tire pressure isn’t just right - at first I wasn’t a fan of the quick-release style thru axles, but its convenience has grown on me. It also protected the frame when my bike fell over Cons: - oddly spec’d tires, I changed to 40mm wtb ventures and couldn’t be happier - hed rim tape was crinkled from the factory, although it came with tubeless tape and the tire still sealed so I can’t complain If you’re looking for the best specs for your money, Viathon is the brand, hands down. If you care about a story of racing heritage or something else, expect to pay more. I’m coming from a road background with an aero and endurance bike already in the stable, this is a great addition bc it opens up so many new routes for me.

So far this is a great bike. It climbs very well. Handles rough gravel roads perfect. I will have pics and a more detail reveiw soon. Hopefully this weekend.
